Summer Fest 2018 was a great success! This Kensington community celebration, hosted by Impact and the Friends of McPherson Square, drew more than 350 neighborhood residents, representatives from local organizations including Kensington Soccer, Renegade Theater Company, and City agencies Philly 311 and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Attendees enjoyed many fun activities including: bucket drumming, face painting, and the ever-popular moon-bounce. Participants enjoyed free hot dogs and water ice while listening to the stylings of DJ Smash Cruz. The event also offered resources and information from many community groups – including Esperanza Health, Kensington Neighborhood Association, and Impact’s Community Connectors.
Special thanks to Councilwoman Maria Quiñonez-Sánchez for securing a grant from the Philadelphia Activities Fund, and to the Fairmount Park Conservancy for supporting this festival.
