Re-entry Services for Ex-offenders

Successful Re-integration begins here....

650,000 prisoners will return to their home states each year from federal and state incarceration. 35,000 return to Philadelphia each year from federal, state, and local prisons without jobs, stable homes, or hope for the future.

Impact Service Corporation has worked with ex-offenders since 1974, and understands the challenges of re-entry.

Impact has developed several national award-winning programs recognized for their excellence. The ‘HOW Program’ works with substance abusers who are ex-offenders and was recognized by The University of Pennsylvania as the most effective job-placement program for drug offenders.

Selection as winner of Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Strengthening Families Award, and the Innovative Program Design Award from the Post-Secondary Program Network (PEPnet) has highlighted the success of this innovative work.

Since 2000, Impact has served 1,855 ex-offenders, and placed 958 in full-time employment.

Impact’s JOBS Project working with inmates in the Philadelphia County Prison System (PPS) was recognized by the Philadelphia Prison System as the most effective recidivism-reducing program in the prison system’s history. All of these programs were studied by external researchers, and recognized for best practices and public policy implications.

Impact also operates other programs, both prison and community-based, assisting persons directed to them through the courts and Department of Corrections. The ‘First Step I.D. Program’ has helped over 1000 ex-offenders acquire necessary identification documentation to step back into the workforce.
