Create Positive Change in Your Spare Time!

As Impact’s work grows, so do opportunities for volunteers.

Staffing our Volunteer in Tax Assistance (VITA) Center every year is an important and regular focal point for volunteering at Impact. A short training and certification process is run at the city level several times just prior to the beginning of the tax season in mid-January. This investment in time and training assures that volunteers can confidently and competently use the on-line computer system at the heart of this free tax preparation service.

While we don’t have a formal program for volunteers, it is always appropriate to contact one of the department or program directors if you have time and special skills that you would like to share with the community.

Our Community Development work is creating new opportunities all the time to involve artists, cooks, contractors, painters, gardeners, teachers, sports enthusiasts, and others in organizing events that bring the community together and help make the world a better place.  Schools and youth with community service projects are invited to talk with us about how their interests and talents can be put to use.
